Key Policy-Holder of the Keys

  • The key holder is a member of the board of directors.
  • The appointment by the board will be rotated annually.
  • The holder of the keys may at their discretion ask for
    identification prior to letting someone into a unit.
  • When new members sign their occupancy agreement, they will fill out the Key Authorization form listing who can be let into their unit.
  • It is the member’s responsibility to ensure the key authorization form is up to date.
  • A copy of this form must be given to the key holder.
  • The key holder will ensure a reminder for people to keep their key authorization forms updated is sent out regularly.
  • The president of the board will hold the key to the office and therefore has access to the key box in the office.
  • Should the holder of the keys be away from the co-op for an extended period the president or another designated board member shall hold the keys.
  • The block captains will be informed who is holding the keys.
